As far back as Bryin can remember, he’s been drawing women’s faces. His passion for art and beauty eventually led him to New York City, where he started his rewarding career as a makeup artist in the fashion and beauty industry. His first job as a makeup artist was working for MAC on Christopher Street in Greenwich Village, New York. There he met  and eventually assisted several top makeup artists: Pat McGrath, Kevyn Aucoin, Francois Nars, and Mary Greenwell to name a few. Bryin learned valuable skills from these amazing artists which helped him create his own distinctive style.

For two decades Bryin’s signature style of makeup has graced the runways of top designers, national and international commercials, major fashion magazines, and many celebrities, including Mariah Carey, Leann Rimes, Katie Holmes and Brooke Shields. In 2001 Bryin was awarded makeup artist of the year by NAHA, and in 2005 Bryin made WWD BEAUTY BIZ magazine’s prestigious the IT LIST, as one of Hollywood’s Glam Squad artists.

In 2001, Bryin started styling hair in addition to doing makeup for his clients. He found it even more rewarding to be able to execute his creative, beauty visions for a woman by doing both hair and makeup. “Hair is sculpting, makeup is painting. I love using my art background for both.” -Bryin Smoot
